Jeanette Coaxum: Jeanette was nominated because of her dedication to clients in crisis.  More specifically, she recently had a client in crisis near the end of the day. She assessed the client and had a doctor see her in efforts to divert a hospitalization. The client was ultimately committed, and Jeanette stayed with her through the whole process until the deputy picked her up around 6:30 pm.

Amy Craddock, Corius Johnson, Mike Ralko and Twana Richards were all nominated by the Director of Support and Services at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center, for going above and beyond on behalf of a mentally ill jail inmate. They are all extremely impressive at their jobs when they work solo, but when they work together they are just unstoppable. She says she does not tell them enough, but they are very fortunate to have them at the jail.

September 2011

Tamara Starnes: In January 2011, Tamara learned of a Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance funding opportunity for DJJ Expansion for Charleston and Dorchester Counties.  Recognizing the needs, and CDMHC’s inability to financially support additional staff, Tamara applied for the funds to expand the CDMHC/DJJ collaborative.  In September 2011 CDMHC learned that Tamara’s application was approved and would receive $141,520 to expand the CDMHC/DJJ collaborative.  The duration of the funding is for two years.

August 2011

Jack Handegan: Jack was commended by QI for his CSN notes being very thorough and detailed as is the POC progress summary. Good justification for multiple assessments and great follow through with clients on the 3rd quarter audit.

July 2011

Carrie Franko: Carrie had consistently high overall quality and POC percentage scores over 9 quarter audits.  She had one of the highest number of direct service hours over a 6 month period.
