Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy services are now available for DMH clients.  Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based and recognized form of clinical practice by the American Medical Association, AMA and the American Psychiatric Association, APA.

By blending hypnosis with cognitive behavior therapy, hypnotherapy (CH or CBHt) offers a unified version of clinical practice that can have a significant positive impact for clients struggling with a wide variety of issues.

Hypnotherapy can assist clients dealing with a number of issues, including, but not limited to…

  • anxiety
  • phobias
  • depression
  • emotional blocks
  • insomnia
  • low energy level
  • addiction and substance abuse
  • grief and loss
  • trauma
  • compulsive behavior
  • stress and time management

In addition, hypnotherapy can also be used as an intervention to prevent, manage, and treat many complaints of chronic pain and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting for cancer survivors and other physical illnesses such as lupus, multiple sclerosis, and asthma.

If you are interested in hypnotherapy or think it might be helpful contact your counselor to discuss how it can become a part of your overall treatment.

If you are not currently a client of the mental health center but would like to consider hypnotherapy as a service please call us at 843-852-4100.
